Northwood University Smash Bros. Ultimate Wins Great Lakes Gaming Convention Singles Event

MIDLAND, MICHIGAN – The first day of the Great Lakes Gaming Convention wrapped up with the grand finals of the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Singles event, where two Northwood students battled it out to win the coveted GLGC trophy.

Pedro “Kurama” Alonso Jr. and Luis “Lui$” Oceguera respectively finished first and second in the event, with a close and exciting grand final to cap off the Smash Bros. event. Both students and the rest of the Northwood University Smash Bros. roster competed against over 100 other entrants, pushing the scale of the event to what is known as a regional in the competitive Smash Bros. scene. With the success of this year’s Smash Bros. event, the Smash community is eagerly waiting for the return of this event next year.
