Northwood Smash Players Finish 2nd Place In Riptide Doubles
MIDLAND, MI – This past Friday, September 11th, Luis “Lui$” Oceguera and Pedro “Kurama” Alonso Jr. finished in 2nd place at the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Doubles side event held at Riptide. Both Oceguera and Alonso were also the highest-placing American team, only losing to the Japanese duo of Hurt and Miya in the Grand Finals.
Additionally, Oceguera also finished in 4th place at Riptide’s Squad Strike Event.
Riptide is held at the Kalahari Resort in Sandusky, Ohio from Sepetember 11th to 13th. Not only hosting tournaments from Smash Ultimate, the event also runs Smash Bros. Melee, Rivals of Aether 2, Splatoon, and Mario Kart World competitions. From Saturday the 12th to Sunday the 13th, the premier singles 1v1 game mode and experimental collegiate duels competition starts.
