Northwood Esports Athlete Wins GLGC Open MLB The Show Tournament

MIDLAND, MICHIGAN – On September 27th, the Northwood Esports player Landen “Landohh” Brechting won the Great Lakes Gaming Convention MLB The Show tournament hosted by the Great Lakes Loons. MLB The Show is the official video game sponsored by Major League Baseball, the event at the Great Lakes Gaming Convention (GLGC) was a double-elimination tournament. Brechting entered the grand finals for the event through the Winners Finals, and after a hard-fought series, which even included a bracket reset, he came out the victor representing the Timberwolves.

GLGC was a two-day event held over September 26th and 27th, and featured multiple events dedicated to gaming such as Collegiate and Scholastic Rocket events, an over 100-person open Smash Bros. Singles competition, and even trading card game competitions. Over the summer, 16 teams qualified for the event from across the nation and even from Canada.
